Wedreadz is an online dreadlock maintenance and education service based in Paris, France.
Our Collaboration with Wedreadz included 24 minute full TV Length Documentary that ‘detangles’ the culture of dreadlocks in Paris.
The challenge was to produce a grand result on a very limited budget, but thanks to our resourceful crew and clever use of captured footage, we’re proud of the narrative that we ended up uncovering.
Through interviews with some of the most important characters in the world of dreadlocks in France such as Thomas Leveille and Divo (PrettyLocks), the film offers an in depth look into the reasons, the challenges, and the sentiments that echo throughout the surprisingly inclusive world of dreadlocks.
We didn’t want the participants — the core of our film — to go home empty handed.
So Allen Thomas, our on staff photographer captured some compelling portraits of each of the characters, on 35mm film.
Each participant was given a high quality signed print, as a token of our appreciation.
